Let’s go to Yodo-ya(淀屋) that is a business magnate in Akagawara, Kurayoshi!

The place that is worth a visit in Akagawara!

You can feel of Yodo-ya that was very popular a business magnate in Japan.

*Yodo-ya(淀屋) is a business magnate that was enjoing prosperity as one of the most popular place in Oksaka, E-do Dynasty.
Yodo-ya set up rice market that was standard on all the Japanese rice market value.
Also, it is contributing to the growth of the commercial town that Osaka was called ‘the kitchen of天下(Tenn-ka : under the sky )’.

It seems like Japan checked Yodo-ya that was getting bigger.
Japan pressed Yodo-ya, finally Yodo-ya collapsed.

However, Yodo-ya opened up a new era, ‘Yodo-ya Period’, on the quiet in Akagawara, Kurayoshi city, Tottori.

Now, it is 1700’s building that repaired in places.

You can find if you turn the left at Izumo-taisya(a detached building), Kurayoshi..
It is easy for you if you refer to Akagawara guide map.

It is free and you can take a picture inside.
You can write your feeling in the visitors’ book.

When they repaired the building, they made a difference between old and new thing on purpose.
A deep wood color is preserved part and a light wood color is repaired part.

Take off shoes then a guide will explain about Yodo-ya for you.

It is quite large Tidami room.
You can see the elaborate decoration that feel the life of a business magnate inside.

Someone who likes here Yodo-ya made a drawing and then donated here Yodo-ya.

That is about 牧田 family of the latter part of the Yodo-ya.

Open the door, very big room!

There are stairs in a corner.
I went up the steps.

Some part of building remains when they repaired the building.
It looks like the joint.
I think wooden building’s joint is wonderful.

The back yard that stuck up stuff is well preserved.
There are a well but closed it.
They don’t use it anymore.

I have seen lots of Japanese traditional building but I have never seen like these heights.
