Utsubuki Festival of Kurayoshi, Tottori Prefecture

Utsubuki Festival of Kurayoshi, Tottori Prefecture

There is a local festival in the summer everywhere in Japan.
‘Kurayoshi Utsubuki Matsuri(Festival)’

I photographed Utsubuki festival for two days.
The festival is held on August 7 and 8.

Utsubuki festival had various events and fireworks in around Akagawara and the terrace land on the river.
The festival fever was about to heat up with Kurayoshi people.

There were many local people and participants who was preparing dance event.
Some people worked up the crowd before the event.

Surely there were many snacks!!
The street was lined with snack stalls.

Many companies and community groups are participate in this dance event.
They have all their dresses made-to-order on the groups.
In case of child care centers, parents take part in dance event with same clothes.

Some people dress up for fun! :)
Wow!

Many participants had a hard time because of the awfully hot weather.

They had performance for celebrating the round of 16 in 2010 World Cup.
Cute kids were having a parade with wearing a uniform of Japan soccer team.

They are drinking beer to cool down.

It is Tottori’s mascot, ‘Toripi’!
